About the Team The Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) team is part of the Technology Strategic Planning organization. At our core, we develop strategic Frameworks, Insights & Analytics that help Workday win. About the Role As a Senior Change & Release Manager, you will join a team of Service Management Architects and Subject Matter Experts committed to empower our engineering teams to deploy services for Workday customers in a safe, resilient and agile manner by providing best in class change and release management frameworks. As a senior individual contributor, you will design and implement industry leading processes and frameworks for a complex production stack. You will lead enterprise change review ceremonies to assess release readiness and recommend risk mitigation strategies. You will be the steward of change and release process frameworks and develop policies and guidelines for a 3000
strong engineering organization. The ideal candidate is a passionate and inspiring leader in the service management space with proven experience of establishing and governing change/release practices in a complex multi cloud environment. Lead development of best in class change and release management framework for Workday's production services which consist of private data centers and multiple public cloud environments Ensure all changes are documented, approved, and monitored appropriately in accordance with Change Management processes and standards Facilitate enterprise Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to review and validate readiness of Change associated to Workday's various release cycles Review change requests to ensure appropriate rigor, discipline, consistency and predictability is applied across the entire organization with respect to how changes are submitted, reviewed, approved and deployed Challenge and push back on proposed change deployments to ensure that the change review is robust and that the risk and impact to the services is understood and acceptable Conduct periodic Post Implementation Reviews (PIR) on closed changes to assess quality Gather, track and publish Process Metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Insights Maintain and improve process effectiveness (quality), process efficiency (cost) and process performance (throughput) through providing knowledge, expertise and training on the use of the Change Management process and tools. years of experience working on Change/Release Management and continuous improvement frameworks. 2
years experience of developing and implementing process frameworks and roadmaps. Other
Qualifications:
Experience with specific tools (SFDC, Jira, Confluence). Knowledge of software development life-cycle. Prior experience with Cloud or SaaS companies. Understanding of data centers, cloud platforms, software deployments, monitoring tools, and databases. Experience of working in a highly technical environment, with the ability to drive discussion with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to assert and hold one's ground in the matters of policy enforcement and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate up and down the various levels of the organization and a willingness to speak up about issues with senior management. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and bring them to a resolution. Ability to effectively multi-task and switch between different mandates of the role. Ability to develop trust and respect with senior leadership. Willingness and ability to adapt to change. $100K -- $150K
