Description: Workday is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our growing IT network engineering team. This position will be focused around Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, Cisco L2/L3 devices and various WAN technologies. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 8
years of related Cisco Routing and Switching Network administration and support experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related scientific discipline. Strong knowledge of MPLS, VPLS, and VPN based WAN technologies. Hands-on experience with the following products is required: Cisco Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, 2K. Cisco Catalyst 4500, 3750, 2960 switches. Cisco ISR 2900, 3900, 4000 series routers. Cisco ASR 1000 series routers Strong knowledge of firewall technologies including Palo Alto firewalls Working knowledge of design and implementation of Palo Alto Global Protect VPN Deep understanding of network protocols such as, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HSRP, VRRP, Spanning Tree, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP Working knowledge of Quality of Service to ensure real time applications. Excellent problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills are required. Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills are required. Responsibilities: Primary role will be to design, implement, and support security, WAN and LAN infrastructure within the organization. Participate in creating and applying solutions to business challenges and problems that are dependent on the company's IT network infrastructure. Create and maintain technical design and support documentation. Collaborate closely with Workday's Security organization to ensuring compliance with all audits and policies. Periodically travel to other Workday offices to work on network related issues or enhancement projects as required.
