Summary:
At Summa, you would join our team of extremely dedicated (aka bad ass) and experienced (aka skilled and caring) Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who support us in serving local school districts with their behavioral needs.
Our BCBAs are assigned one or two districts and their own team of school RBTs to supervise.
The primary responsibilities are to support your dedicated team of RBTs and the school teams in the implementation of skill acquisition and behavior support strategies aligned with current best practices from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the BCBA include, but are not limited to the performance and/or oversight/execution of the following:
Consults with staff concerning appropriate learning strategies and positive behavior interventions, to support the student to access instruction, and to make academic progress in Summa Academy Classrooms.
Plans and oversees the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
Plans and provides, or oversees the provision of, positive behavior management interventions and program for each student or classroom.
Provides hands-on feedback to teachers, RBTs, and support staff while they are working with students in the classroom setting.
Provides training to, and coordinates the work of, RBTs, and other staff implementing behavior interventions and programs.
Conducts assessments that conform with the IDEA and the California Hughes Bill to address behavior, including functional analysis assessments and functional behavior assessments Presents a comprehensive report about assessment results at the subsequent Individualized Educational Program (IEP) team meeting, as needed.
Makes recommendations to the IEP team based on the findings of each assessment and specific to the identified disability as it relates to classroom performance and access to core curriculum.
Manages a caseload of students or classrooms to support with Specialized Academic Instruction and behavior interventions.
Manages a team of RBTs to ensure they have the skills, support, and supervision to provide the best quality ABA service to our students.
Takes the initiative to problem solve and create materials and content based on teacher feedback.
Provide Professional Development to all staff and revise PD content calendar based on observations, staff needs, and student behaviors.
Other duties as assigned.

Provide leadership and management to ensure that the core values are put into practice at all times.
Administrative:
Expert administrator in all required software systems such as time and attendance, electronic clinical practice management system, business intelligence system, applicant tracking system, and file sharing.
Liaison between districts administrators and Summa Directors.
Management of materials needed to implement programs and services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Professional
Qualifications:
The BCBA must possess the following:
Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for at least 2 years.
Certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board to provide supervision to those pursuing certification.
2 years of related professional experience designing and providing programs based on ABA to individuals with developmental disabilities.
2 or more years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications:
The School Based BCBA must possess excellent leadership skills with regards to professional conduct, communication and school services.
The BCBA must represent, model, and teach the People First perspective.
This position requires someone that is self-motivated, able to independently solve problems, and is highly dedicated to providing the highest quality of services to all students and families.
